Timber Creek Lodge, Roseville

A comforting renovation in the Arts and Crafts style for Sun City Roseville.

Timber Creek Lodge is a central assembly space and a focus of activity for the residents and guests of Sun City Roseville, and needs to convey warmth and friendliness. The space must also adapt to the variety of events hosted within its walls. With the Lodge’s ten year anniversary looming, Sun City retained Western Contract to freshen the look of the public spaces of the Lodge while maintaining the warmth and versatility of the original design.

Our design team worked closely with Sun City’s design committee to determine design requirements due to the nature of the Lodge’s users. As an active lifestyle community, an early concern for the team was to choose furnishings that were comfortable and functional, but also easy to get out of. We also wanted furniture that reflects the most current approach in residential and hospitality design.

We opted to apply the Arts and Crafts style in a restrained fashion so as not to detract from the interior architecture. Materials were specified in a variety of fabrics, leathers and patterns to provide durability and easy maintainability, and all furniture was carefully arranged in the space plan to facilitate conversation in busy corridors.

The custom carpet was an opportunity to introduce color, applying earth tones and patterns to unite the interior with the outside world.
